Anythings possible. Even though all the containers are meant to be fumigated in the old place we had a Red Back that set up home in the radiators in the spray booth.

think its a uk spider dude - used to get the same type in a old tree in me garden - spiteful fuckers and i think can bite

see a thing in the papers about a spider related to a widow breeding on the south coast - so just beat the fucker with a newspaper :D

or just chuck it in garden 8)

get the lighter fluid out out mate. you dont live too far from me. i dont want you chucking it in the garden for it to breed its way to my house

we found a black widow behind the back wheel two nigths ago,got it in a jar in the woorks van :animal0017:

Looks a bit like a 'False Widow' (google it) which is a relation to the black widow. We found one under our decking the other day. They have a bite like a bee sting. There was an article in our local rag about them recently. They came originally from the Canary isles approx. 100 years ago and were mainly in Devon and Cornwall. Its thought that due to the warmer climate they are now spreading. One way to recognise if you have them is that they have a messy looking webs.

Time for this again and start humming, spider chart, spider chart ...............................

 Helps if you say it aloud with an accent of your choice.

(sorry, a distant memory that made me chuckle :D)

Doesn't look like a funnel web to me dudes, my tip would be just leave it alone, it's probably eating the mozzies that bite you on the bum so while it's working for you you might as well keep up the staff morale.
I think the climate is still too cold over there for these beasties. They don't even come far south of Sydney towards Melbourne, so I think you blokes are safe for the time being.
This is a funnel web

I've got one in the greenhouse! Feed it daddy long legs and house flies, they don;t arf move quick!!! (Everybody eats at least 3 spiders in their lifetime, make a start have this one with poppadoms and pickle!!)

I have done a bit of looking around on google images, and I thik you might have a funnel web there.
Might pay to check with someone who knows more about it. If it is they can kill you with one bite. There is anti dote to their poisin, but I don't know if there is much on your side of the world.
Check this page out. It might help, but if there is any chance it is a funnel web I wouldn't take it.

Sydney Funnel-Web spiders: aggressive by nature - can be deadly

FEMALE

MALE
Area of distribution: The Sydney Funnel-Web Spider is a ground dweller, commonly found in moist soil areas along much of the eastern coastal area of New South Wales and Victoria.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Venom toxicity: - The Sydney Funnel-Web Spider is one of the world's most deadly spiders. Both the male and female carry atraxotoxin, one of the world's most dangerous toxins.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DANGER TIME: The mature male Sydney funnel-web spider will leave it's burrow and wander off during hot humid nights, looking for a mate. At this time it is known to enter homes, lodge in footwear, clothing and swimming pools, where they can survive several days under water.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Highly aggressive: The male Sydney funnel web spider is highly aggressive when disturbed or cornered and is able to inflict multiple bites, with its "flick-knife" hardened fangs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Heavy rain or earthworks will drive the Sydney funnel-web spider out of it's burrow and are commonly found wandering around the garden or in the home at such times.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An anti-venom is available in most major hospitals and ambulance vehicles in "funnel-web country". If bitten, you should apply first aid and medical attention (ambulance) should be sought as soon as possible.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Spider identification: -The male Sydney funnel-web spider is about 25 mm and the female about 30 mm in body length. They are shiny black in colour with a dark purplish brown abdomen with a covering of reddish hairs.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique identification markings include it's long spinnerets, that is, the two appendages on the end of the abdomen. Also the male Sydney funnel-web spider has a distinctive spur on both it's second front legs - refer to illustration on left.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Blue Mountains funnel-web spider is highly venomous and is found in the Blue Mountains area, as far west as the Bathurst - Orange region and occasionally in the Sydney basin.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Northern tree funnel-web spider is highly venomous and is found in south-eastern Queensland and northern New South Wales as far south as the Hunter Valley region.

Erm ............ atfer a few beers i was in the outside toilet having a snout out of the rain. The spider ran across the floor towards my size 10. Whatever it was it now is a smear across the floor.

lobus =: after reading that i think i was for the best

Better to be on the safe side! - I smite spiders that come in my garage or house, don't mind them outside doing all their spidery stuff but I'd rather not have them gawping at me and making evil plans!

lard i'm the same dude, what they do is up to them like them knocking about in the garden, they eat the little fuckers that bite me at bbq's but when there somewhere i'm going to be lying while working on the bus or in the bedroom i'm going to be sleeping in or even worse where ny back sack and crack is going to be  i did my best (2days) to leave it alone, but when it made a dash for me, its a dog eat dog world and i've got begger teeth then him :msn4:

Good choice in the end. i might have tried to catch it in an upturned jar ( abig one mind you) and got a better picture of it, too late now though even those septic CSI dudes wouldn't be able to ID it fro a smear.
Although by the sound of it coming at you; the "aggressive" description sounds on the money.
