There a good set been jetted for a 1600 camper engine and in top condition.

Turns out cos my bus is a 68 on its original engine its a single port engine!

Spoken to a few people n they recon i wont be able to fit these to my engine?

Has anyone got twin carbs on their single port engine?

Dave

yer dropped them an email but the guy seemed to think they wouldn't fit but i'm sure someone must have fitted these to a single port before?

do a search on 'kombiporche' and have a look at his motor, I think but im not sure he was running twin carbs on a single port engine.

to be honest it seems more hassle than its worth

van running sweet at the moment so might just sell them on and save my pennies for a 1776 one day

I'd have thought running twin barrel carbs with single port manifolds woud make the extra complexity of having twin barrel carbs a bit redundant?

They are extremely nice carbs though, just what I'd want on my 1600tp. :)

yer they are lol

i'm off work today so bord thought i'd see if there was any interest in them

deffo decided to get rid off them so if anyone wants em £200

why not buy a good set of secondhand twinport heads? normally if heads have over 15K miles on them you can be sure they wont 'go', could be a cheaper option. though you would need manifolds, linkage and filters. CB performance do the full kit with offset manifolds for $150.

If you do decide to go for some new heads its worth checking out..

They also have a rolling road so will be able to set up the carbs etc
Only out alfreton way as well.

Im getting a gearbox sorted for the Notch, longer 4th gear for a higher cruising speed without comprimising the lower gear acceleration. Going to be doing one on the bay soon......well I say soon, thats next years plans.

If you have a stock 1600 its not really worth it that much, but im putting a nice 1776 with twin 40s in it and need a bit more beans from the trans

whos doing the work? when i called for a cogbox quote i was shocked, i didnt realise that the work was so expensive. I assumed you could buy a new freeway flyer or something similar for the price it cost for a refurb...

a guy off vzi is doing mine he builds loads of them for folk on there who race etc £150 for standard refurb which he says is pretty much replacing most of the moving parts.

i was worried about the lower gears having no acceleration like Easy said but Ego Trippin has has a 1302s box in his bay with no engine upgrades and recons its fine.

eventually i want a 1776 twin 40's so i might just get the box refurb and wait and have it all done in one go?
