Certificate of Non Conformity (registering van in France

As you may know I recently sold my van to a couple who live in France. I have been asked if I know where to get a Certificate of non conformity which they need to enable them to register the van in france..... I havent got a clue what they need. Any one know??????

If you don't get a quick answer I can ask my neighbours who also have a place in France, they have taken 2 or 3 (modern) uk cars over there and registered them so they may know unless it's something specific for classics.

The "certificat de conformité" is obtained from the VW importers head office in France.
