Hi all,

Not long had some whitewall tyres fitted to my bus.

They are suffering from a little brown-ish discolouration & I was wondering what people use to clean theirs?

I have watched all the you tube vids - some people are raving over the Meguiars hot rims cleaner, some over bleach-white (american, I think) and some are saying just to use soapy water with a scotchbrite pad or a pummis stone - one guy even takes an angle grinder to his tyres, but not sure i want to go down that route.

Just wondering what people use on theirs & how good the results are?

thanks

Thanks - will try swarfega & see if the Mrs can find me a magic sponge!

Not really sure if I need to try cleaning or sanding (only very slightly) - some of the youtube vids imply that the white rubber is quite thick & you can be quite abrasive with it?

Swarfega (well, a cheapo copy) and the rough side of one of those little coloured cheapo sponges seemed to do the trick!

Thanks for the info.

Before..

After..(with just a bit of cheapo swarfega copy & a sponge)..

Could probably do it again & get it a bit whiter, but as the tyres are new, they seem to be discolouring quite quickly, so didn't go too mad.
