CNC machine what would you make.

Over a few beers recently a friend reminded me that he as got a CNC machine that can be put to good use if i need it. He makes fancy stuff for the Royal Navy and other such military types.

What would you lot want that isnt already available. I dont know what the costing is going to be and what numbers he would need/want to make it worth his while. Hes mentioned he will do me one off parts but if there is a market then why not run with it.

Ive got a few things in mind but if youve got any ideas let me know and i will see what can be done.

i have access to cnc stuff and like you say there is not that mech new stuff that you can make without it already being available , i`ve done stuff like jailbars ,caliper brackets rear porsche hubs ,carb vents and various other stuff for myself

always fancied the _E_A_R_L_Y_B_A_Y_.C_O_M_ script just like the one on the tailgate,maybe to go above my number plate on the dash - might be a few EB members interested in them.

or maybe _D_O_R_I_S_ in the VW script style.

wheel adapters, hubs, caliper mounts, billet pedals, billet handbrake or gear stick. there is loads of stuff that can be knocked up. a friend of mine on vwkd whenever he gets an engine adapter knocked up, he buys five and makes kits to pump out on ebay to offset the cost of his bus build.

Made several parts for veedubs on CNC lathe and mills just have a look @ my blog.

my next project are CNC ported heads, bay window CNC spring plates retainers like the ones we can see on bugs,

and some oil pump covers with an inlet and outlet to make a look a like dry sump system like this...

How about some deep center caps for wheels, like my flat 4 BRM's. Rear ones that cover the hub nut

Big gear knob that works on an empi shifter

Window winders (there is a lack of these about)

Looks like this might not happen. Hes been offered 4mill for his share of the company and hes thinking of taking it. (cant blame him really)

Fuch wide 5 arent that hard to find, i had a set but didnt think they looked right on the bay. If you find any make sure the savers are in the holes as they are hard to find

Reading this at work today and decided to give the early bay sign a go,

The top one is my old vw badge, the other two are both lasercut from 2mm steel. Might try to get hold of some stainless and give it a go out of that.
