Hi chaps, I'm having real problems trying to download a new picture for my avatar, at present i'm using a picture of my bus when it belonged to someone else (who also used to use earlybay but is still using my bus as an avatar) but since buying Gerty in Feb she's like a whole new bus with loads of love, money and attention going on her and I wanted to express that by having a new picture but cant seen to compress my file from my pictures on my computer.

Loads of you appear to be computer wiz kids so some help or advice would be greatly appreciated

cheers Miche :beerchug:

don't worry about me i'm in my own little world, have sussed how to have my girls on my signature, thats good enough for me :party0003:

Open an account with photobucket
upload image from computer
select edit image
image size "theres a drop down of sizes" select 100x75
save this image to computer and upload it as your avatar :D

 Cheers for that Ground Hugger, I must be dead thick cause I tried that and it still said my file size was too big, hey ho, got the red wine out now cause it was stressing me but as I said I'm happy I got a picture up now anyway and at least I know who to use photobucket too.

Ta, Miche

From memory Avatars on here can be no wider than 80 pixels so thats why its too large, I usually make them 79 x 79 and it works, if they are wider it messes up with the forum spacing hence the restriction, photobucket allows you to type in the size you want.

open up paint (start, programmes, accessories, paint )
open your pic (file, open, browse)
check the current size (image, attributes) it may be something like 600pixels by 600 pixels
work out how much you need to reduce it by in % terms 79x100 /600=13%
resize the image (image, resize, 13% in both horizontal and vertical)
save andf upload.
