Near York, not an expert but happy to lend a hand if I can. On our 4th bay now,so got a pretty good handle on the pitfalls which can catch you out.

RHD could equal lots of rot if a UK bus or major restoration if done properly. If restored you MUST see restoration photos to know whats been done. Cant say who to get to look at it but dont waste your money on AA/RAC type of inspections because they dont know what to look for. You really need to find a local VW specialist (look in Camper & Bus, Volksworld etc) and pay them to do a full inspection for you. Tell them that you will probably get them to do any work that the vehicle needs and get them to quote at the time of inspection. Get the report then go and have a look armed with their report to help negotiations. You could also pay for an MOT test (even if the vehicle has already got one) before you buy.... £50 well spent if it shows up any hidden horrors. Be cautious and dont buy with your heart. GOOD LUCK

hi mate, what's your budget etc, are you after a original paint van with nothing to hide or a restored shiny one for example? might be able to help you much nearer to home ;)
