How much should the original dealer license plate holders cost? I know a few of you have them and I've managed to track mine down and they seem to be coming to between £50-£90.
Still extremely cool.

To be honest its what you are prepared to pay for them , the guys in the states know what these are worth!!

I got my OG dealership new oldstock for £45.00 each from a local guy who imports from the states.

Biagio at world wild wagons.
He sell's on ebay too:

I just bought these from eBay, £50 inc delivery from the states ,should be here next week.

There's a lot of repro frames of the more sought after dealerships so cheap may not be original if that matters to you.
Decent OG VW/Porsche frames will be $100 easy, much more for the cool ones :)

Check the price for an OG 2 piece Empi globe frame

I've been trying to find some ones with Tuscon Arizona on, but not much luck so far, is eBay USA the place to look???

How can you tell original from repro apart then? Id rather have a clean set of repros than a faded/ dull set of originals anyway I think. I Can't really comment on mine as they haven't arrived yet. However they are previously owned/fitted but apparently in great condition.....we shall see!! :D

I've paid £80 for a single frame including shipping from the states on the Samba before but it was for the dearlership my bus is from so it was worth it as its pretty rare.
Saying that I scored another pair from the same dealership on ebay for £100 for spares.
Try the Samba and put out a 'wanted' ad if you are after a particular frame.

Just the quality of the metal and I read something on the Samba about markings on the back of the frame but I'm not certain. Your Bob Smith frames look OG, and waaay cool :)

Thanks guys. The one I'm looking at would be £100 shipped from the US, that's for one! But it does look like it's never been used and I've had my eye open for a few months for one and never seen this particular dealer pop up.
This bus malarky is a costly adventure.

This are repro from a local dealer here in San Diego , they are plastic not metal but they look good IMO , of course nothing beats OG metal ones.

Clem's right in what he's saying ,
The harbour and Westminster frames posted above are repop ones
A Lot of sellers pass them off as original nos ,
You can see the differences in the pic below
The McKenna above is a 90 s frame .
Heres a pic of original frames from back in the day ,

So how can you tell what's NOS and repro? I can't see the difference?

Me neither, just seems that the original ones are faded and dull and the repros are newer looking. I can't see any other give aways.

I reckon the 'chequer' section you get on some is a sign of reproduction frames. Some are obvious, plastic frames and all the 'year' frames are fakes. Often repros will only have plate tags on the top of the frame too, where originals have them top and bottom ... they all vary though.
I looked at some of mine, the original ones are easily identified by being old and knackered
