Defcon3 - Ringwood - advice please.

Advice please guys:

I was advised to take my bus to Defcon3 in Ringwood for a service, MOT and restoration. Anyone had any experience of these guys? The bus is Wiltshire/Hants. Any recommendations on a reliable garage would be appreciated.

Suggest you try Ron at VW Endangered Species, posts on here but net very often, they are in Trowbridge in Wiltshire, Ron can be a grumpy old git :lol: :lol: but knows his stuff and has done resto work for myself and a few others on here, tell him Graham recommended you call and he'll probably say insulting things about me :lol: :lol:

Another shout for Rocket Ron .... no bulls**t, fair prices and realistic with how long it takes to sort something out and warning about what may be uncovered once a job gets started..... also good at comparing the cost of simply replacing an item against the cost of repair and labour

I did have some work done by Alex at Defcon 3 a few years ago when I had a beetle. His work was good, real attention to detail. I remember him having a couple cars featured in Volksworld as well.

I would also recommend NOSVW in Wimborne if you could venture into Dorset. Si, the owner posts on here as 'rusty'.

I've had servicing and MOT work done by Luke at Gary Angel Racing in Wimbourne (http://www.garyangellracing.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false and Ed at Wide 5 in Lymington (http://www.wide5.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false in the last couple of years and would happily recommend either of them.

Not sure how much resto work Luke does, or how much you need, but I've seen some of the work that Ed has done on my friends busses and the work looks top notch.

My 51 rag is with Alex at Defcon 3 at the moment. He's a good reputation and had a hand in many of the top cars on the scene. The workshop isn't layed out like Ikea, but the quality is spot on and he's a likable guy who really knows his stuff.
