As you can see there's a quality motor running this Tach and the individual components have all been developed using expensive tooling methods. I could have just slapped a printed piece of paper on an existing tach and screwed it into the dash for half the price but that's not what I wanted to achieve.
I would like to make it clear that I will be selling these to EB members at an overall loss. You may question this and say then why the hell am I making them at all? Well, I have already invested a considerable amount of money on tooling and research which I will struggle to make back in the first few batches. So I have decided to produce them at the cost of the parts plus a very small margin to cover my time and effort in putting them together.
I will be finalising costs this week and can say they will be around £140. This is a little more than the prices quoted by the competition, but worth the extra investment for the quality. I realise this may be a stretch for most people but I really can't see them being produced for any less. Like I said earlier, I will probably need to sell close to 70 units before I break even.
I will be wiring it up and testing tomorrow so will report back with the findings. Thanks for all the support.
