Hi, I'm putting back together my Devon interior (typical 1971 early bay Devon stuff) and am looking at the Swing Out Cooker and the hinge to the fixed piece of timber to the bulkhead.

My question is if a Devon owner could share the specification of the hinge:

1. Guessing it should be a continuous hinge / piano hinge, but if it shouldnt then someone please tell me.
2. What colour / material was it originally in... polished ss, brass, aluminium, plain steel?
3. What size... again am guessing at inch and a half open (38mm)
4. What thickness of metal the hinge made from?

Tyring not to be a stickler for originality... but spent so much time cleaning the units up then if I'm buying a hinge then may as well make it correct(ish) for the period.

Any help much appreciated.

I have one if you want it. I've just taken off the hinge and and mounting timber as I prefer to lift the cooker to where I want it, and I didn't like that amount of weight hanging on the hinge, or it's tendency to score the floor as it swings.
a fiver + postage (to help subsidize a very expensive hobby) if you want it

There's a couple of types,

a two part one that releases and enables you to remove the cooker,

or the one that is a length of piano hinge on a timber mount.

The bottom one is spare at present, and yours for a tenner if you want it. ;)
