Ex Westy,
Anyone on here know Mike Hale, or Joey as he calls himself? I bought a side popout off him about 5 weeks ago on this forum, and paid for it via paypal. Despite him messaging me to say it was on its way, I've had nothing, and despite many pm's to him since, he's not replied. Can anyone help me out?

I bought a set of wide five steels from this guy about five weeks back via the SSVC. Promised to send out the same week......five weeks later, various excuses and hollow promises and lots of ignored messages later and still no wheels. Asked for my money back and that was ignored, and it took a fraud claim via Paypal to get the gift payment i paid with back.
He sells stuff on various forums....also goes by the names MikeyBoy and Hale901......avoid like the plague is my advice!

What a nice fella, so glad I came across him.

Shame nobody has his address - maybe a face to face chat could resolve the postage issue.

Hi,
You have no worries. Clearly PayPal can not assist you as you sent the money as a gift, you can however do a "chargeback" via your bank. Contact your bank and ask them for the necessary forms. Once a month has elapsed, your bank will have a legal right to extract the funds from his bank account.

I had a similar thing happen to me, by a guy who runs the VW Emporium. Keep all correspondences (e-mails PayPal etc) This will be irrefutable evidence.

I can guarantee you will get your money back via this method. Never give in. 8)

Thanks very much! Faith in man kind renewed.
And thanks LV for the bank info, I really dont want to let him keep my cash.

I dealt with the same guy but on Thelatebay (same user name). Took my cash, sent the items, never arrived, blamed it on the wife who apparently works in a hospital, I chased and chased and a parcel with a load of ***** parts finally arrived, not exactly what I'd paid for and not in good condition. I just chalked the 100 up to experience and binned all but 1 item.

The chaps is a disgrace to the scene. Avoid him.

Matt,
Yes, but it's also the big companies who use sharp practice too, albeit with a polite front. For what it's worth, I bought some brand new TMI covers from a well know VW seller. I wanted to return them after 5 months as they were not the ones I ordered (heat seams on the wrong way). I was told that the company policy only allows 3 months to return them "Sorry we are unable to help" was the curt reply.

The law allows up to 6 months I had to quote this and send a link to the relevant stature before they re-considered. They then "ordered" the correct ones, but after 2 months said these were now unavailable from TMI... I contacted TMI who told me the covers I wanted were still in production. Basically they never ordered the covers but wanted to mess me around. I got my money back in full, ordered them directly with TMI and got then a week later!

Trust no one, and question whether no one can be trusted. :msn4:
