Hi.will a late bay sliding door fit an early bay? is the only difference the key hole position? any ideas anyone? :?

Yep, earlies have the lock in the handle and laters don't, therefore the later doors have an extra hole for the lock barrel.

Also the inset aperture around the door handle is different too which I think means that the handles operate differently too.

Outside of this I am pretty sure it'll fit the same hole. Best get someone with a bit more knowledge to confirm this though ;)

The inside recess for the door card changed from 71- also...so if you have a -71 card you'll need to modify slightly to fit a late door.

They do fit as my sliding door on my 71 bay is a late one. Not sure what year the door if off as it was already on the van when I got it.

Hello all,
Does anyone know if a later (>71) door card will fit an early (1968) door unmodified? Or if modification is needed is it easy, and can it be done without trashing the covering?
Thanks in advance, Justin.
