early bay,anyone seen one of these before?

the engine support bar is from my 70 Early bay,i have now sold the engine complete with bar, was this bar a standard type bar? several people have said it may have been made to fit from early/late parts, i was under the impression it was standard
More importantly, i need another one so i can put my new engine in, does anyone have any idea where i can buy one from?

Hi

Certainly different from my 1970 support bar which does not have any true box section in it unlike the later bars. Mine is made from two U-sections welded together but the mount ends are the same as your picture. Youu have four extra holes two either side of the bottom mount which are the mystery.

I would think your best bet is to try and find an original early bar support bar from a breakers (FBI ? VWRelics, Volksalholics, VW Emporium) or E-bay if you can be patient.
