Hi
Can anyone recommend where i can get a decent elec ignition kit from for a 70 dormy?? Sick of getting covered in oil changing and setting up (unsuccesfully!) the points.
Cheers

I've got one of these...

I've been led to believe they are the nuts. It keeps the points as a switch, but instead of being High tension, they become low tension (12v), so the points never have to be adjusted again. The only draw back is you have to assemble it yourself.

Hey speedwell, have you any pics of the install??? :D

Not yet the engine goes in next weekend. Angelvenemous on VZI runs one, it was him that put me on to it. As soon as I get it in I'll post up a write up on installation.

I have one of these in my bug, drive it every day for 1.5 years now with no problems. I'm going to put one in my bus when I build the engine for it.

That is ace, $99 is a little over £50. How much is shipping? It's a shame they don't do a vacuum one.

I'm quite interested in something like this as I think my dizzy has had it, anyone know if these are available in the UK??

I doubt the shipping on one of those would be $50. That is a very cheap dizzy. Considering what a full Pertronix setup would be over here.

You may be unlucky and get stuck by customs - not sure what the import
duty would be though

That looks the same as the petronix style of ignition.

Why not just order an EMPI electronic ignition from Kingfisher Kustoms, they are about £25 plus postage. They are a direct copy of the lumenition kits that Autocavan used to sell for £50.

I have fitted a few to customers cars without trouble.
