Not strictly an Early bay question but relevant all the same. The engine in my Fastback is kippered (1600 FI ) and needs ideally rebuilding or replacing.
Anyone have any good or bad experiences with Remtec (Heritage) or Volkspares?
I would like to have the original rebuilt if possible and am considering using T.E.S. (The Engine Shop). Anyone used this company and how did you find their products/service?
Any advice gratefully received as it's going to cost a bit and I want to get it right.

I used Jim at T.E.S to align bore my engine case, and all was well. I have read on other forums that they don't recommend them though.
I know that at T.E.S you can get your engine couriered there for £50 then £50 to get it back and they can rebuild your one.I haven't used the other companies you mentioned,T.E.S is fairly local to me so I will only use them for my engine machining in the future.
I thought T.E.S used to build there engines for volkspares, not sure if they do now?

Bought a 1600 short engine from Heritage in '98.....used in 1303s....then bay...now buggy
goes as good as it did '98
