I've smashed my moustache bar up somehow, thinking of modding it to get some more ground clearance when I repair

Anyone else done this and got any pics?

I'm surprised none of the lowering "hauses" haven't started a line in producing these yet. If you go about it in the right way you could also work in an slight engine raise. Maybe only a 1cm or so would work in a stock setup, but every little helps!

I'm planning on re-working mine soon, but i'd rather procure a second and work on that...

Grind down and re weld the main seam along the bottom and then plate the 2 lower curved bits to match. This will bring the bar in line with bottom of heat exchanges without effecting strength too much.

Cheers,
Jim

The common way is to modify a late bay engine bar for a type one engine (straight bar) and weld the early bay ends onto the end of it.

Pinched this picture off another thread but this bar....
