Hi guys

Any past experience on this scenario :

Engine runs fine, pulls well and ticks over ..

Timing set and advances correctly with timing light..

Carbs seem good ..

But .. when you accelerate the engine from tick over it seems to vibrate momentarily (maybe 800 to 1000 revs) but runs fine after that ..

less prominent in engine bay than sat in the front ..

Bus has been off road for a while and I have noticed it since ..

Just wondered if it was something to worry about ..

Cheers

Time to bring out the big screwdriver...

Put the point against the engine and the other part against your ear. This will amplify the vibrations/sounds from the isolated areas.

Then it is a bit of trial and error until you can narrow down what it might be.

P.S. this might sound daft but it's not something in the bus vibrating, is it? I had strange, intermittent, vibration sounds in my daily that was driving me nuts for months. The cause? My sunglasses in the recess on the dash.

That's the wierd thing George ..

It is other things vibrating .. The noise kind of comes from other stuff but the rev from tickover
Makes them vibrate..

It's like a vibration through the bus ..

Maybe it's paranoia after 5 years off road!
