As the title suggests.

When I'm out in my 68 I start to smell exhaust fumes, not massively and there's no smoke inside.
She is running a bit rich could this be the problem?
I was thinking about taking the ducting pipes off of the heat exchangers as the heating system is rubbish in my van, would this change anything?

Any help would be great

Matt

First check to see if the heater flaps open and close when you operate the levers on the dash.

If they close properly then see if you get the smell with them in the closed position.

If no then check your crank case breather pipe is not blocked and is correctly connected to the air cleaner. If its ok then check the exhaust and heat exchanger for leaks and corrosion. A favourite spot is where the exhaust connects to the heat exchanger itself. Also check to see if oil is leaking from the rocker cover onto the heat exchanger.

If the smell is still there with the heater flaps properly closed then you need to check the tailgate seal and look for any holes between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment.
