fan housing vibrating

anyone experienced the fanhousing vibrating in a major way??

take the fan belt off and everything is ok

soon as its hooked up it starts to vibrate at high revs - taking everything to bits the fan seem to clear everything in the tinware

wondering if the fan is a little out of shape the high revs starts to oscillate the fan and starts moving the whole housing?????

any thoughts??

Something has to be out of balance, is your generator strapped down to the oil fill tower?

yeah all strapped down - dynamo wont shake once secured ??

Top pulley in good order?

belt not jumping too much?

deffinately no movement on the pedestal?

all the blades present on the fan?

sounds like an out of shape fan or the dynamos bearings are shot....belt off how does it feel spinning the pulley? any knocks, stiffness, movement?

everything tight and secure - dynamo seems straight and in order

it must be the fan, some of the blades look a little bent - i'm going to get another - let you know how i get on
