Finding vans history?

Does anybody know how to find the history of a van? I would love to know where it was first regisitered, first owner, all the places it has lived over the years, and i would love to track down the recent previous owners and find some old photos of it, what do you think, would this be possible? Could the DVLA help or would it be illigal to let that sort of infomation out?

Can't find the link or address, but I got the owner history on a previous bus from the DVLA. Cost a fiver.
You need to write a letter explaining why you require the information, be prepared for a few questions...

You must be the current registered keeper of the vehicle, quote the registration number of the vehicle and enclose a fee of £5.00.
I would ring and check first as this may have increased.
