Hi there, just found out my firewall is missing on my van (don't ask)...

Anyhow....is it an absolute no no to drive it without the firewall?

tia!

68's dont have a firewall from the factory so as long as everything is in order then it should be safe to use.

If you have a leaky tank and sparks coming from the engine though ....

Well what could go wrong lol!

I know tank is not leaky, and all fuel lines are new.
just wasn't sure if it was a MUST have.

Am not 100% sure on the vent lines so am going to renew those too.
Or perhaps bypass and use a vented cap instead, any thoughts?

The vent lines are an absolute must - make sure they're all tip top. The firewall was added for a reason too, you shouldn't have much trouble tracking one down. Try on here as a wanted ad or on VZi/the samba/ebay

thanks guys! just got some new vent line hose to replace all the little pieces that need doing. A couple are literally not present at all venting into the engine bay.

Annoying as it came back from my mechanic who apparently took the tank out and replaced the supply lines. Shame he left the vent lines missing and made no mention of it to me.

Will have a hunt on ebay now for one as i would prefer to have one than not.

replacement panel found for £15 on ebay,
now do i use fuel line/jubilee clips for the hose....If its a tight fit am thinking maybe not required as OE doesn't have them after all?
