My indicators don't cancell themselves and this is dangerous as I don't always notice that its still on. I can't be the only one who has this problem. Has anybody
fitted a buzzer or other audio signal to warn that the indicator is still on?

If so what did you used and how did you fit it?

Thanks
Eden

Sorry cant help out but if someone does know how to do this could they also design a buzzer for when i get out the van and leave the headlights on :shock: :shock:

Eden

fitting this is quite simple, purchase one of these from the AES site

http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/search?search_string=buzzer&x=0&y=0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

then to connect, supply a perm live to one side and take the switched neg feed from the blue/red wire which goes to the warning light on the dash cluster. just put in a second wire on this terminal.and connect to the buzzer. now the buzzer will sound with the flashers.

froggy,

you to need to goto this site and buy the lights on buzzer. instructions supplied, but would imagine you have a perm feed, a switch feed from the lights and a switched earth from a door switch.

Thanks Jon.

When you say the warning lights on the dash I presume you mean the lights that flash with the indicators.

Yep there the babies, you should have a blue with red trace wire running from the relay to the lights, just add another to this either at relay or on back of the lights. and take to the buzzer.

Wouldnt it be easier to try and fix the cancelling problem? It's pretty simple - start by checking the cancelling ring is fitted to the wheel on the left underside. Then check that the indicator switch is aligned to it. The switch can be easily checked by removing 2 screws. I have a thread on here showing disassembly.
Can provide more pics when I get back from my hols if required. Bit of a ballache typing on an iPod ;)

X2. In all liklihood one of the small plastic sliders has broken which has released the "W" spring. This is quite the easy fix. Much easier than cobbling together a buzzer system as a reminder.

I had a buzzer fitted at onetime, drove me and my mrs mad on a long run .I like having indicators that dont self cancel,they always cancel at the wrong time.Im now used to them and find it no problem,probably because most of the old trucks and buses Ive driven are like that.
