Fitting Furntiure T Trim, what tool.....

OK sorting the interior out on my bay and trying to work out best way to fit the t trim. Thinking of buying a Trend 1/4" arbour and slot cutter although these are !!! @ £40 I think is there another way??

Yep bought the tools for the router just seemed a lot but if a jobs worth doing.....
