Foamy gearbox oil!?

I just decided to check the level of my gearbox oil (changed about 4000 miles ago)
when i pulled the bung out a bit oozed out and weirdly appeared to be sort of white and foamy......

is this normal or is it a tell tale sign of something odd?
I think ill do a complete change of the oil anyway, any ideas chaps?

Change the oil Luke, foamy oil is a sign of it breaking down, water contamination or not enough oil in the gearbox.
