Just been doing some repairs to my dashboard and have found that the spade connector joiner / reducer for where the cables to the fuel gauge go through into the cluster, has broken. There are two prongs that have snapped off mine, and these are required to be bent over to hold it in place and stop it from short-circuiting. Can anyone tell me if these are a 'normal' electrical part, and if so, what they are called, as i can't find anything similar on the net!?

For reference, this is what it should look like in situ:

Two prongs that have snapped off can be seen here.

Mine was/is the same. I have used some epoxy to glue the spade into the plastic spacer, then epoxied the spacer+spade in the hole on the cluster. Seems to work fine.

Thanks for the offer Si, although I fear that trying to remove those clips from an exiting gauge cluster and then refitting will probably cause them to snap in the same way that mine has. Have got the araldite out so will see if that holds. Clearly these little connectors are no longer common-place in the world of electrics!
