Hi all.

Having trouble getting my fuel gauge to work after a year of having my front loom being sorted.

Fuel gauge was working before. Only wire I have left from original loom is a sky blue one which when connected does sweet FA.

The gauge works when earthed out.

Is there a way of seeing at the sender at the tank or is it all enclosed?

Thanks in advance.

You can measure and cut a wee inspection hole above the tank and get to the sender, then fab up a nice cover plate ....

Of you can have one like mine, done by the PO
All you need is a tin of chappie and a hungry doberman to chew a hole then ram a shit fitting bit o steel on top and fill with copious amounts of silicone

Thanks for reply Bertie.

Connected the blue wire in case the gauge kicks in. Low and behold after a short journey and a few corners the gauge has sprung into life. However it's jumping high and low.

Would any other wire do this? Or have I the right one and fuel sender knackered? Cheers.

Not checked but I'm pretty sure that the fuel gauge wire should be brown. It should poke out from behind the firewall in the engine bay and then loop out with the rest of the loom towards the front.

Mine is currently dead
It did pretty much what yours is doing now :?
It could just be a sticky sender tho? Have you tried topping off the tank?
