Always knew that the fabric fuel hose isn't the best (always try and use proper goodyear stuff myself) but this is scarey, only two and half years old!

And also didn't realise about modern fuels attacking it.

Going to check my bus out now, it's got a (recent looking) weber on it and fairly sure that's the stuff that's plumbed onto it. Wasn't going to change it as it looks fresh but now :shock:

I believe its the high levels of ethanol in fuel now that is doing this. I had some old geezer hand me a leaflet about a campaign to get the government to change the legislation on fuel composition as it was destroying classic/vintage cars.

The fuel line kits from Volksbolts on eBay or VZI are up to spec and superb.

Under £20 for peace of mind .... no question.

Same old story - you get what you pay for, but in this instance it could be fatal.

Got mine from Volksbolt as well. Well worth the peace of mind, and good/proper fuel clips as well.

think I'm just going to change mine every year as a matter of course.at the end of the day its only a few quid and its not too big a job.

As long as you fit fuel pipe to minimum SAEJ30 R9 specification then you'll be OK for a couple of years.

its strange that that polyesther braided rubbish is actualy tested and certified for unleaded fuels!! :shock: :shock:
