Mine is mounted in the engine bay at the back LHS near the fire wall. That way it's accessible to adjust. My fuel pump is the other side of the engine bay attached to the chassis.

Thanks for that. It's a Malpassi fuel king without the filter. Should it be fitted before or after the standard mechanical pump....I've lost the instructions!
 
I assume you have some twin carbs fitted and want to regulate the correct fuel amount to them rather than rely on the stock pressure produced by a mechanical pump. If so then I would have thought after the pump. Hopefully someone will confirm this just to be sure.
 
regulator goes after pump - stock pump can easily produce 4-5 psi - Dells like 2.5 from memory

mine is the filter version and is screwed to the left of where the fuel tank firewall would be [my 68 doesn't have one], but I have a leccy fuel pump and fuel solenoid on top of the gear box area
