Yep, only showing 3/4 full often is.
Best in-tank cleaner is just fresh petrol.
Most folk fill up just before a journey (and then use it straight away) or only part fill so the top quarter ends up gunked up.
Leaving the sender soaking in a brimmed tank of optimax during the week often helps sort it with no tools required
