Just tried to start my bus after a few weeks of not being used, she would not start and after looking in the engine bay found the wire from the back of the generator to earth at the regulator is burnt out completely, any ideas?

check the main engine earth wire on gearbox ,realy the only way that the wire on dynamo would be burnt out was that it tried to carry starter load imo .try a jump lead from engine to battry on the earth side and see if it starts that will show up a bad earth on engine /body.

Thanks for your advice checked the earth strap, it was all corroded, cleaned up now and wire from genny to earth replaced, all working now.
