ive had this bus for about 8 months now ,i bought it of dave roberts (aka isit) on here, a great bloke, after getting it home i had an engine bay fire so unfortunatly had to paint it but i have to be honest i love it now its finished some of you will have seen it at a few shows this year ,the bus is quite rare as im told as it was built in germany then exported to south africa ,im told only a handful in white were exported ,correct me if im wrong,Buster came with loads of histoy following his life which is always nice to have ,i did the resto myself as im a panel/painter by trade, here are some pics when i bought it and now its finished ,or should i say work in progress ,there never finished are they :D

Very nice bus and welcome.
love the layout of the interior with the bench seats.

your bus looks gorgeus, what wheels are they? love the layout too bit different to a normal westy.

hi there, they are 15" splitscreen steels ,only the south african vans were non walkthrough which i prefer as i have four children so gives us more room

gorgeous bus there fella did you have any problems fitting those over riders only im trying to fit some to mine and there very tight :)

i had and engine fire too 2 weeks after i bought it unluckily no onboard fire extinguisher how ever did manage to save the bus and get it rebuilt . the resto firm who rebuilt the engine made a great job ill find some pics and put them up , they also fitted a fuel filter in the engine bay , i noticed your has one too , alot of people have told me to move it out to above the gearbox , what are your views on this . i would really appreciate your feedback from someone who seems to have had a simular experience to me

cheers dude

the overiders were a tight fit ,i got a die grinder and gradually made them a bit bigger then when you add the rubber it will make them fit nice and snug,as for the fuel filter i always have mine in the engine bay just so you can check condition easily also easier to change, say if it gets blocked at the side of the motorway on a road trip ,not that ive had that happen ;)
my engine bay fire was caused by old fuel pipe as alot of them are ,something i make a point of checking now
cheers paul

hi scott glad you like it ,the only welding i did was replaced the lower rear corner as it was pepered and a bit on the battery tray,oh and weld the hole up in the lower front clip, dont suppose you still have the pics of the bus when it was still in south africa do you as i never did get them?

Will be putting up for sale in the next week or so ,so if anyone's interested then pm me ,sad times but need the cash to fund my samba project :(
