In Gadgets Speed Shop modifying a Bus
People if your van Knocks/rubs or bangs cus its lowered SOMETHING is clearly Wrong .

If your tyres catch there the wrong size  I went through 3 sets of front tyres before fitting 175/55/15s to the Gadget bus and 3 lads and 4 peoples gear plus large trolley jack and tools to EBi ...It didnt rub once

If your bus fails the M.o.t due to lack of Travel ..... Cut down/off the bump stops This will improve the ride no end

If you have done all of the above and it still rides like ***** Your shocks are wrong ...Im just devoloped some new Gas front shocks to be sold by me under the " Gadgets Shop " banner Get It  . these are slam shocks that will go down to 220mm fully compressed and will fit even the lowest Bay /split bus front or possibly the Rear too . Its taken a while but now there done . They are £ 49.99 a pair and if you bought the equivalant Spax shocks from Machine 7 there £ 145 a pair which is why im determined to Give something back to the Early bay scene and NOT rip people Off

Please NOTE when lowering your bus 1 pair of Shocks DOES NOT fit all No matter what Heritage/SSP/ Just Kampers tell you . AND when buying a set You need to Ask the fully compressed Meaurement

If it helps You which it will put the bus on the floor with all the weight in it ,I.e interior engine etc then with the front shocks off measure the dimension between the the bottom shock stud and the top mounting Hole . This dimension is the measurement YOU need to determine what shocks you need on your bus .

Now typically Bus front suspension can move up to 30 mm on the move so if your measurement is 320 mm You need shocks that will compress down to 290 mm MINIMUM........... NOT 300 mm as the EXperts say as your travel will run out and You will hear a Large Bang everytime you hit a pothole sized Bump

Oh yes Shock measurements Help  The shocks at there most Compressed are 220mm and there fully extended length OH Err are 310 mm As of yet these will not fit the rear of buses Unless they are Proper slammed

Please check all measure measurements before ordering Thanks

And Watch out for more Gadgets Shop products

agree with the heritage thing, i swear my rear shocks aint right, what shocks do these compare to gadget, was thinking of spax adjustables

im gonna take mune off and remeasure at some point

Awesome, I am rebuilding the front end and really need a good set of shockers..

Sounds like a great idea deano. :D

You have PM and we might be able to help you out with this  .

Ok 1st Guys my shocks are Gas and the ride is firm BUT not wallowing ( Imagine a bus that will corner But Not Uncomfortable ) So the bus rides well even with, 2 people two dogs and all our camping gear for a week away .

2nd i had better get some photos up asap and people can see them Cus that helps and Big Nick you can run them on a midley lowered bus But to be sure Take measurements of your spacings between your upper and lower mountings depending on whether you fit them to the front or rear and we can go from There ........

Also Early bay fans Im devoloping quite a few items for Early bays  some of which will blow you away AND yes the first set of Gadget Dropped spindles are JUST about to go ON Test

I will keep you All posted

Great plan!
So - what is the minimum we can lower and still use these shocks?
I'm bog standard at the moment, but MAY lower a tiny bit - can I still use them?
Now come on - what else you got up your sleeve.....!? 8)

cheers

Now typically Bus front suspension can move up to 60 mm on the move so if your measurement is 320 mm You need shocks that will compress down to 270 mm MINIMUM........... NOT 300 mm as the EXperts say as your travel will run out and You will hear a Large Bang everytime you hit a pothole sized Bump

Hi Gadget,
Looking at your post above ,are you saying that I need at least 60mm
clearance from tyre to arch on a balljoint beam with your shocks and enough travel in the balljoints of course. And I will have a good ride

Its Tuesday morn and I got mine up    :p How you doing with yours?

Gadget Boy ... its winter&work time now and there's no time to spare ...
So the shocks sound good , i'd like a pair or two on my 69 Porsche servicewagen ... but like the others i am crying out to find a pair of Drop spindles.. heard that Kieft'n'Klok have Zero-offset on the way but about yours ..
Are they Zero offset too and are they with the steeringballs mounted from the underside? and how about safety so they dont get shoot out. I know words is i didnt happen on SlammedPanels one but just asking..
And how about price on a set for my 69 bay.

Looking forward to start working on the bus now... have tonnes of plans so its ready for Mantorp & Brusten next year.'
