Used the Bus a few times since the last update - loving it, shame winters on the way...

Due to the Poor mpg, 14mpg! I've been having a fiddle. So far I've reset the valve clearance's. checked the timing, set the points correctly, reset the carb settings to haynes basic setup and slightly advanced the dizzy - much improved performance now. Time will tell if the MPG issue improves.

Fitted a header and Bugpack today to add a little bling to the rear end - not sure if I like it over the std exhaust, but gonna give it chance - sounds very nice though. Also added Mr Monkey to match my daily :)

R&R bed was from here:

Not the best quality, but it works well and fitted without too much hassle - you get what you pay for and it was cheap as chips. Just re-enforced it myself and covered it to make it a wee bit easier on the eye. Works well with the car seats too :D

Found some pics of the bus while it was sitting at the dock in the US  looking very sorry for itself...

Recently had a close call where we may have needed to sell...luckily we have found other ways of raising funds so we can keep her.

Ever since fitting the BRM'S, I've missed the chrome caps, so managed to pick up a set of original wheels with nice old yellowing paint and some slightly troubled hub caps. Went to the local tyre place and had 185/70/14's on the rear and 185/65/14's on the front.

Bit of a win win, the bus looks lower as there's more rubber hidden, but we've gained almost an inch in ground clearance so I can now get on and off the drive without scrapes. Plus, the BRM's fetched decent cash to cover the new tyres. PIC:

Not really much of an update, but since garaging the bay for the winter, I've spent most of the time sorting through the crap I moved out of the garage to make room.

Always disliked the 'fake' old look front bumper, so when one came up for peanuts locally on eBay, I snapped it up. Best of all it's totally original - worts and all!!!

Next on the winter to do list:

Fit some kind of sound system
Pull the engine out for a cleanup/leak fix
Clean up the engine bay

A late Christmas present for the bus arrived yesterday. Can you tell what it is? :D

Perfect looking rack that suits the lightly worn look of our bus. Can't wait to get it fitted!

Wee update

Took the bus on a 140 mile round trip to Cube upholstery in Ilkeston, derby to be measured up for the R&R cushions and to recover our front bench seat. Going for a classic red - after weeks of deciding between red or brown vinyl.

Had the front seat apart again today to narrow it by an inch and thin out the bottom part as it was a wee bit high.

Also fitted these while the seats were out

Hi ya,
not sure if you want these or not. But I took some photo's of two buses at Jays last year in June, not sure if they were imported at the same time from the same place. Anyway, here's a couple of photo's of your bus. You have done a fantastic job on your bus, certainly has given me some inspiration. Due to work commitments I only got my bus in December. Started doing some work on her now.
