i have got myself a 1970 bay but it has a big rust issue,
the beam`s under the front foot well that the steering box bolts to is shot this look`s like you can bolt it on and off if so where can i get them from and at what cost i live in Leicester. can anyone help me the wife is a non believer and want`s rid. thank`s digs. :(
 
sorry i mean the beam, it`s like a y shape and there two,
one drivers side and one passenger side it`s the drivers side that gone.

yes that sounds like what it sould be called, i`m new to buses so don`t know what there all about. :oops:

I am part way through cutting out that (number 6) chassis rail at the mo, have also cut out halve the floor for access to the top of the rail.

Got the rail from AH Schofields it comes in two halves.

Mine came in two halves from VWH too. Thickest metal I've ever seen in a repair panel 8)

It wasn't quite the same shape as the original though :lol:
