Fitted a recon 1800 to my crossover replacing a 1700.
On accelerating she is now hesitates then picks up unless I am heavy footed when you dont really notice the hesitation. This hesitation is felt in all gears and speeds/revs.
There is also small 'pops' from the exhaust on decelaration, not sure if same issue.
Timing checked, points, plugs, leads all replaced. Tappets checked.
The 1700 had a slight hesitation on accel but no where near this bad.
Anyone any ideas as what is going on? :?

Sounds like its running lean. Try setting the throttle stops, air and mixture screws as per the manual - not with a co meter - and see if that fixes it.

Thanks Trikky,
Have adjusted the mixture and accel much smoother. Still got the odd 'pop' but probably just needs fine tuning now.
Cheers

Glad to hear its impoved it though the occasional pop is not right. Might be worth checking for air leaks on the inlet manifld, balance pipe and check the brake servo and its pipework.

Thanks Trikky, found the brake servo hose leaking. Have replaced the hose and no more popping.

Still have an issue that the bus runs great at 50mph ish but more than a few seconds at 60 and she looses power, recovering if I drive at low speed, 30 ish for maybe 30 sec's then she will drive happily at 50 again all day. Think it is a fuel issue, the fuel pump push rod is worn and about 4mm shorter than manuals recommend. Trying to source new rod.
Cheers
