Hole in carburetta???

Hi

A hole has suddenly appeared in the front of my carbretta? (see pic) I think it was just a plug/cap thingy?

Does anyone know where i can get a replacement cap thing from? its a 30 pict 2.

The plug is probably still on your tinware, they don't seem to stray too far. If not I think a 5p is quite close, perhaps with a bit of sealant around it.

Maybe araldite it in, and peen over the edges so hopefully it wont fall out again!

Does seem to happen a bit, these plugs blowing out - don't know if a backfire or suchlike causes it?

Not had it happen myself - but as mentioned above, as long as your tinware is all in place, you normally find it kicking around somewhere.

Yes they are designed to blow out if there is a backire into the carb, apparently that was the reason Solex fitted them.
