Thinking about summer and holidays.... have never ventured south to Devon and Cornwall and think we might this year. Now my question to you Devonians and Cornwallians is where should we head for, what should we see and where should we stay... will then post our itinery for your comments... THANKS

I've stayed on Travella camp-site and it was ace, loads of facilities hookup, heated outdoor pool and the prices weren't to bad as i remember. They do have a web site you can look them up on :D

If you are coming down south you got to go see the minack theatre it is very south but it is amazing well worth seeing

Croyde bay north Devon, is my most fave place,
And worth the 8 hour drive it takes me to get there.

agree i love croyde/saunton. we stay with my inlaws a lot in Marhamchurch just outside Bude. so we head south and stay in Polzeath at Tristram which is pricey but a really great place.

Lobb Fields just outside Woolacombe, close to Saunton, Croyde & Woolacombe, lots of VW campers stay there

Gwithian farm,Hayle near St Ives.Nice clean site, cream teas in an afternoon mmmmm, very good pub across the road.5min walk to beach with shop for board hire etc and cafe which does a nice hot chocolate to warm you up.Happy days... :D

Would always recommend Bude. Lots of great beaches (busy and remote), great surf and some great places to eat. Polzeath goes off in the summer so if you like crowds and beach atmosphere it ranks highly. Personally I recommend a small village called Trebarwith. Pub on the cliff overlooking a great beach break :D

Too man to mention, if you don't mind a long journey, Sennen Cove (Cornwall) is THE place.

Otherwise Polzeath (North Cornwall) is lovely. North Devon is also great as everyone else has said, Croyde, Woolacombe etc.
Everyone goes there though, only the extreme venture to Sennen (3 miles from Lands End!!!!!!!!) :party0009:

Fantastic place especially when the suns out....just make sure you have sunglasses and a hat.....

Minack Theatre, Mousehole and Sennen Cove.
Used to go regularly in my youth, but not been for many a year now. What great memories!
Anyone remember Skewjack Surf Village,....... or is that just too long ago?

Yeh Sennans really nice, the only time I turned out there for the surf it was flat as
I'm staying in Coombe Martin again this year.

Trebarwith is one of our favorite places, oh and you have to check out sandymouth at low tide!

We love Crantock, one of the best beaches in Cornwall (in my opinion) and also Perranporth has a HUGE beach.
Prefer the north coast of cornwall to the south (mainly as the south coast has a lot of fishing villages were as the north has the beaches) although were going to Dorset this year (something new)
