Hello all.
Just spent a very cold Sunday afternoon cleaning every part of the horn ring assembly, and also the spade terminals on the horn, plus spades. I've tested as working the horn on a battery off the vehicle-BUT...........Horn STILL only works occasionally -

Anyone got any advice what to check next ? (I'm hoping its not a steering wheel off and outer steering column removal job !)
Cheers !

Could be a bad earth at the bottom of the column.
Have a look underneath the van above the steering box.
Maybe theres a loose wire under there?

try a wire to earth from the column outer ,if the horn works every time then its a earth fault from the wire down to the steering box.sometimes its down to the conection to ground through the box as it needs to make a conection through the bearings and gears in the box so wagging the steering wheel will make a connection.

wire it up off a separate switch on the dash if you don't want to take the wheel off? i might do this on mine, i keep having little miss sunshine moments driving along
