Well I have been taken bits back to metal and I came across, Yellow, Green Red, Blue and then the top layer white....I am sure some are primer but still my van is abit of a gobstopper.

What have you come across?

Oh yeah I forgot the brown rust, and snap with the colour dude mine use to be that colour, maybe they where bros in the hood

to be honest it didnt need the paint doing as it was quite tidy barring a few minor dings and if I'd known about the hassle with the paint shop I'd have left it...but hey you live and learn. And I love the colour and it shines up nice...

Now a blue and white colour with designer rust spots and holes 8)

was a metalic blue,

before that a redish colour,

and originally a wierd yellow/ orange colour

and in a few years a green or different blue. Not sure yet. :!:

The classic, and rather random

VOLKSWAGEN ORANGE!

thank god its now blue

like every other original UK bus

i think mine has always been Chianti Red. I did a bit of poking under the rusty bits and unless it was baremetally and the painter was meticulous about over spray i can only see one colour (over pastel white ofc)

my bus was dark green/ grey/ cerise pink/ grey/ sludge green/ filler white before she was bare metalled and sprayed red and white :)

min was savanna beige all the way through, but now its changed to a variation on the same colour

Our late bay is an ex dutch army vehicle, later sprayed massey ferguson red by a previous owner.

It is now showing its age and peeling back to Khaki green :(

Mine was originally chianti red all over, previous owner had it resprayed chianti red again by someone that didnt bother to prep it first so the respray has started to peel badly in some places.
In fact in some areas you can flake it off with your finger nail.
Give it a few more weeks/months with the paint stripper & jet wash and it will be back to OG chiant red.

You can just see the outline of the flaked off paint on the front in this pic (around the badge and towards passenger headlamp)

montana red all the way :D

i used to be a dove blue lover, but the red turned my head and no mistake
