Its going to vary so much depending on if there is any body work or just scotch pad rub down and paint
windows out.
2 colours top bottom
Kind of paint you want could be £60 a litre for metalics
inside of the van done
how much interior to take out
Show and shine winner pin straight panels?

Its all going to add up!

Will save a whole load of money if you strip it down to a rolling shell yourself and put it back together yourself when its painted.
Get loads of quotes. When mine was done i got quotes between 1.5k and 6k.

Sounds about rite! My stands me at £1200 but that includes buying the compressor an gun too! :D

I just got a quote for paint, admittedly this is for a blow over, paint comes to £100 1ltr of beige, 1 ltr of white plus hardener etc is this enough? bear in mind i'm not changing the colour just freshening up whats there.

So we're talking 2k here? 1 litre to do all the panels from the swage line down? Never in a month of sundays.
3 or 4 litres easy, thats mixed 2:1.

The white depends what you've got for a roof.

I've been quoted about £6k - that's inside and out.

?

"?" indeed.

Other people's prices are irrelivant because they aren't trying to get your van painted.

Rolling a stripped, fully professionally prepped shell, ready for primer and finishing in one colour isn't going to be the same price as driving in a complete van for a 2 colour split, including a pearl on the top and a candy on the bottom.

Good advice, if you've got the means it's almost always cheaper to strip and build yourself, the cost of a trailer hire works out much cheaper than the man hours for the strip and build.

You will find a lot of bodyshops won't accept other peoples paint prep work, or if they do they won't guarentee the work (as at the end of the day its the prep that matters, a badly prepped van with fresh paint is much like a gift wrapped dog turd, it'll look nice for a little while but soon start to stink)

Looking at previous work, the condition of the workshop etc is also a good idea when gathering quotes.

well our paint is our reputation so ours start at £6k and rise as far as you`d like....you want straight panel using lassanol 2k paint..6k you want pearl candy ..its not that much more....the paint finish IS IN THE PREP.

ok not a bus, but i paid 1.5k for my old coupe turbo, because i didnt like the previous owners car wash swurls :msn4:
they debadged and welded where the griffin was too

the bus is costing, me nothing  other half bought a compressor for £400 and owes me the paint :p

Had mine done over the winter. all windows out. painted inside and out, engine out and engine bay done. there was alot of prep involved as the bus was very dented, but solid! The bill was 3.5k
