how the hell do you get a cv joint off the drive shaft!

ive got the shafts off the van to replace the boots but cant shift the damned cv joint despite the blow torch and a BIG hammer.

any ideas? :evil:

On the splined end, about an inch down, there is a circlip that is sat in a groove. Once that's free the joints slip right off.

Remove the Circlip from the end and just drive the shaft back throught the CV joint, its on splines so might need a bit or persuading, recently done all 4 gaiters on mine took about 1.5 hours per shaft
