How to remove furniture laminates please?

The lid of my Dormobile coolbox is rotten due to a water leak.

Can anyone advise me on the best way to remove and keep the laminates to apply them to a new piece of marine plywood please?

I haven't actually done this - but in your situation, I would be tempted to try leaving the lid in a bin of water in the hope of causing the plywood to de-laminate and allow me you use a fine steel flexible scraper to work my way down, layer by layer, to the back of the Formica.

I would be interested to know what you decide and the results.

I removed westy laminate with hot air gun with a wide paint scraper

Worked a treat

You can use contact adhesive thinners a bit like this

Get it behind the laminate and within a few minutes it'll start to peel off

Did it with a guitar fretboard once using steam. Worked OK
