i have a problem with my headlights , the side lights are not working , i pull the light switch out 1 click and nothing happens , i have replaced a blue 25 A fuse which was blown as i thought this could be the cause , how ever when i went to put the side lights on , the fuse blew again .. i presume there is a short in the circut somewhere :? where is the first place to check ? its a 1970 early bay. thanks

The main cause is the sidelight bulb/holder, which can be quite fiddly and can be made to short.

Check those on each headlight, especially if you've replaced the lights recently. :)

Hiya hip.

Araon and Tofufi both make very good points................

Whenever I see that somebody is having problems following working on their car I always suspect their work to be the indirect cause of the problem. And the plastic cap the holds the electricals together on the bulb holder body can be a bit "suspect".

I'm guessing that you do have a short. By the way, did the PO stick that 25 amp fuse in there? If so, that might be a sign of a problem with this circuit some time before you got the Bus. I'm thinking that you should not have anything more than an 8 amp fuse in a Eurostandard Bus

thanks for the help chaps , is there anyway i can find out which fuse should actually be in there , its the first slot from the left , like i said it had a 25a fuse in there but as you mentioned this could be the wrong one , i have a haynes manual but i cant find this information in there. one other thing is , should a 1970 bus have side lights ? just seems odd how the main beam works but the sidelights do not ? its puzzeling me
