I saved a '70 bay from being cut up and scraped last night. It belonged to another DAC member. He had it up for sale on Samba for several months. You guys will most likily have seen it. No one wanted it because it had no motor or trans. It's in better shape than my westy.

I want to paint it a darker blue and lower it. Tint the windows (so I don't have curtains to deal with). Put in a camper setup.

It would have been a major loss. It only has rust problems in driver floor board and battery corner.

It's not like it's hard to find & fit an engine & trans.

Not that hard. I think the main reason no one wanted it was because
1... No engine/ trans. ( the PO bought it for the engine / trans for a bay he has)
2... The rear seats are gone. Was used by a painter to work out of.
3... The guy the PO got it from replaced the tail lights with trailer lights.

It has new frontend parts (ball joints / tie rod ends) and new brakes.
I'm going to play with it and custom it out. What the heck!

Here is that '70 bay I saved. It's beat up a bit but only rust issues it has is drivers floor board. Should make a good camper.
