Just tried starting the van when the key would not turn in the ignition.
Stripped the column and barrel out and took the part which holds the wires off. After doing this i checked the key again in the barrel and it turned ok.So went back to the part with the wires attatched, managed to open this up and found broken pieces inside. :(
1.Has anybody had same problem ?.What did you do ?
2.Can i buy just this end part ?.
3.Will a later end fit an early barrel ?.
Any help/ideas welcome.
Left it all in pieces for now to cold out there, and to top it off its snowing.

You can buy replacement switches, i had to do this on mine, i was wire tracing to find a fault and when i removed the steering wheel cowling the switch fell off into a million peices (well maybe not a million think it 900 000 or something like that, forgot to count  )
Think VW heritage sell them.
