Has anyone got any tips on finding the spring loaded button on the rear side of the casing that holds the ignition barrel in? It's starting to do my head in lol

yup, lots of patience! it took ages to find it on mine. I can't remember how big it was but the hook you are using looks a little large me....

I'm currently at my mums house looking for a wire coat hanger (none at our house) I've been trying for hours so I think it's to big. Thanks for link and info. Let the fun continue

... well you have more patience than me.... I ended up literally cutting the bit of the ignition barrel that sticks out off with a hacksaw.

Took 2mins off cutting after 3 days of trying to find the little hole with a bent bit of wire!

2 days prodding then lost temper and stuck a 10mm drill down the keyhole. Just enough to wreck it then bingo the lock popped out with a quick poke.

Did mine many years back - no helpful articles or internet back then. Took about half an hour of bending, twiddling, re bending and trying again before finally getting the wire in the hole. Patience is the key.

(and stiff wire thats not too big helps too)

It was easy enough to prod in the hole, it just didn't work. Trust me I tried everything in the workshop. And I knew what it was like inside so exactly what I was trying to achieve but no joy. When they do come out you wonder what the fuss was about. It's just my own one got stuck.

I spoke to a mate, who had done it a few weeks before, after day two I asked him how long it took, he said "not long, about 10 minutes ?" ..................... :? :x

Now for the 100% truth! after day two, I bent an old cb aerial thinner and stiffer (lol) took minutes    the relief when it came free
