Over on the kick panels thread we are putting together an order for around ten items from the States.

Does anyone know how much the import duty on around £30 worth of stuff would be for each buyer?

is not luck, bad luck, getting charged the duty on something this size :?:
think this has been said before
some one should know

...i think it is random selection, but size isn't important ;) once you reach the value threshold of having to pay

I have brought things in of equal value and one I have paid and one have not....it isn't the VAT that p***** me off  it is the £8  . As on small value items that can be a high % where as on larger value item it is small.....

...just allow for the 15% +£8 when you order plus slight £/$ fluctuations....Paypal use Bloomsberg rates....

Also try and get them to mark it as a gift, then send the invoice seperatly, you may get arround it then ;)

Bank on it being vat plus £8 admin and anything less is a bonus. Ive been hit on 'gifts' as well, technically it doent exempt them. Over time Im definately 'up' on import taxes, its just annoying when youre hit.
If its Fed Ex or similar, make sure they dont tax the invoice total amount, which will include shipping costs! Thats not on.
