My mate has kindly offered to lend me his (spare) car :D so i can concentrate on getting the van re-sprayed (have just sold my daily so the van was going to be used which meant delaying the spray job :( ) but this car is not insured as he had to swap the insurance onto his other car.
I'm sure that there is something that says the car must be in your name to validate the insurance in case of any claim but does anyone know a way around this?
Dont want to drive un-insured but also dont expect my mate to sign his car over to me as its only a short term thing.
Anyone know any other way around this???

This shouldn't be an issue, all policies require you to have an insurable interest in the item being insured. The fact that you have been allowed to drive gives you an insurable interest.

You must declare to insurers that you do not own the vehicle, as in the event of a claim if you are the policy holder you will be the person paid out and thus being able to run off with the cash.

Fact is setting this aside the log book just records the registered keeper not the owner!

Hope this helps, just be up front and you should be OK
