and i should have said that the cover is social, domestic, pleasure and commuting (to one place of work).

Rang carol Nash £141 fully com with all the trimmings
Full AA breakdown

Well happy that's £100 to spend on the bus :D

Just done mine on my first bay :D
Through A-PLAN insurance £153 all in
Very helpful and first rate service should the worst happen.
Try Henry at the Thatcham branch and tell him Mattie sent you.

What do people think of this?

1/ Renewal with Footman James £145 - great service and help us out when we had a total engine failure in France and happily refunded nearly £500 on a cab fare from Rouen to Calais with no receipt as I was a in a hurry to catch the ferry and forgot to get it from the driver!!!!!!

2/ RH Specialist £122

3/ Carole Nash £117

All same cover including breakdown except Carole Nash offer full AA breakdown
but RH Specialist offer free salvage on the vehicle!!! That means that in the event of total loss they will pay out the full amount (agreed value) AND give you the vehicle FREE OF CHARGE!!! Whilst the others you would have to pay for the salvage...?

:)

in your situation i'd be inclined to stay with footman james .... although that salvage deal sounds good.

Hi all just had a renewal through from HIC

Baring in mind me and my girlfriend are both 21. Ive benn driving 4 years, her only 2.
3000 miles
Fully comp
Breakdown cover
European insurance and breakdown
Agreed value at 9k
legal protection and all the other usual trimmings!
Wheelsnamd suspension declared.

The van is a lhd us import 1969 deluxe (really should post some pictures up sometime)

All in £734
Last year was about 1275 as we got shafted when swapping insurance over from my beetle?

What are your thoughts? Alot of specialist companies wont touch us as were under 25.

One of our friends reccomended Equity Red star to us and we have used them ever since as dead cheap for classic car insurance.

RH insurance (Equity Red star) and there follow up cover was good. When our van had a crash I got a brand new T5 California during the show season so did not have to cancel my shows, then some quite posh cars after that. Though despite it all still glad to get poppy back.

regards
col

My insurance is due for renewal so I tried RH. Sadly they cannot provide an agreed valuation for an ungaraged bus. Worth knowing, and shows that we are comparing apples and oranges in this forum.

Best quote so far? £163 with Carole Nash, including £18k agreed valuation (parked on my drive), full AA breakdown/recovery, legal protection and limited to 5000 miles. Beats my Heritage renewal quote by a tenner...every little helps.

Oh, and just now Carole Nash are throwing in a free hoodie. If you spot somebody wearing a crap hoodie around a BBQ this summer, it is probably me.

£117 Agreed value and AA breakdown with Carole Nash...and a free camper sweatshirt :msn4:

Did mine with Classic Line. £220, 10k mileage, to and from work, as its my daily.

New policy with Carole Nash and already used AA recovery...:(. 4 days into policy!!! New engine blew on first trip...not happy, but happy with Carole Nash policy and cover...:( Lets see if the engine recon company is as good!?!?
